(forgot to switch to the Skuas for this run, hence Barracuda Level bombers in the background) So for the Lulz I decided, "Why not, let's take the stock version of the level bombers and torpedo bombers for a spin in the training room and then, because I'm stark raving mad, took the Albacore torpedo bombers into Naval Station Newport". And then stock planes almost universally have faster plane recovery, making whole "top planes" very questionable. Tbh, making top planes an actual upgrade could help - top rocket planes throw more rockets, but have dispersion and aiming time adjusted accordingly so practical accuracy remains the same. (not that War Gaming is going to change British CV's because spreadsheet says all is fine comrade and bloody Submarines are taking up all of War Gamings development time) So to sum it up, make the silver line CV's a bit more like Ark Royal. It would also play to the idea that British planes are tougher but slower helping them get more of their attacks off because atm they still have the third group shot to bits by "strong'' AA due to the slow speed resulting in them spending more time in the enemy's AA radius which negates the heavier armor. Thing is you could easily fix this issue while keeping the 'flavor' of British CV's (smaller squadrons) by just changing it so that instead of having (using the Furious as an example) three waves of two bombers per air group you instead have two waves of three bombers per air group (and modify it per tier)īasically take the current squadrons and divide them into two waves, this gives British CV's more punch per wave while still keeping them lagging behind on overall squadron damage output as they have less planes in the air at any one time.
